Easton's Birthday is Coming Up

As of this morning, Easton has an official birthday planned! If he hasn't decided to come on his own before Thursday, he'll arrive via c-section that morning. Thankfully, we're both still healthy and doing well, but little man just isn't making much progress. I'm still not dilating, and he hasn't dropped too much, plus he's a rather large boy so my doctor just felt better delivering him sooner rather than later.

So, tomorrow I'll be 40 weeks along and just for kicks and giggles here's what BabyCenter.com has to say about that.

It's hard to say for sure how big your baby will be, but the average newborn weighs about 7 1/2 pounds (a small pumpkin) and is about 20 inches long. His skull bones are not yet fused, which allows them to overlap a bit if it's a snug fit through the birth canal during labor. This so-called "molding" is the reason your baby's noggin may look a little conehead-ish after birth. Rest assured — it's normal and temporary.

Oddly enough, none of this really applies to me. A) Easton has already surpassed the 7.5 pound mark and B) He most likely won't have to worry about the whole birth canal thing. He'll just see my doctor reaching in for him!
Cute little thing, huh?
