I Don't Know What a Rutabaga Is...

But it sounds awful.

Today marks my 25th week of pregnancy with sweet Baby J. Unbelievable! Where have these weeks gone? When I was pregnant with Macey, every morning I read a little paragraph in a pregnancy journal I received as a gift. This time around, I'm so busy with little miss that I'm very proud to keep up with reading a weekly e-mail about Baby J's progress.

Speaking of progress. We have furniture in the nursery! (This is a very big deal.) As you may know, this child doesn't have a name, but he now has a bed! Macey's room has been totally rearranged as she ended up with the new beautiful off-white crib. It just screamed "girl!" to me, so she had to have it. I'll post pictures of her new room in the near future. Baby J's room, well...it has furniture, but that's really all I can say. I've picked out bedding, and I think I know what we'll do with his wall color, but neither of those things are in place yet. Thankfully, we have 15 weeks left. Sounds like a long time, huh? Yeah, it's not.

According to BabyCenter.com:
Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. His weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but he's beginning to exchange his long, lean look for some baby fat. As he does, his wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and he'll start to look more and more like a newborn. He's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

P.S. Have I told you that I have a feeling this baby just might have red hair? Some of you may know that my brother has red hair, and I have a lot of natural red in my head. For some reason, I feel like he'll have dark auburn hair.

I think I'm offended that my baby's been compared to a rutabaga.
How ugly is this vegetable thing? It looks like a jellyfish. My baby's not a jellyfish!
